Climate hazards
Climate hazards indicators are essential metrics used to assess and monitor the risks associated with climate change. These indicators provide valuable insights into various environmental changes, such as rising temperatures, shifting precipitation patterns, and increasing frequencies of extreme weather events. The Climate Hazards Indicators provide critical insights into climate-related risks by forecasting multiple climate variables at different time horzons and different climate change scenarios. Most indicators are derived from based on the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) climate models. They are provided with a spatial resolution of 0.25 degrees (approximately 25 km at the equator) at annual and monthly time frames. The monthly indicators have been aggregated by administrative areas and are displayed as timeseries.Citation: World Bank, Climate Change Knowledge Portal (2024).
